Rules, criteria, panels and results stay linked by version. Entrants can check admission, and each award links to its current verification status.

How it works

From a shared reference
to your own progress.

Any artist can launch an event, and the community picks the reference and format. Deadlines and your next steps are always visible in Arena.

How it works Read the rules
  1. An artist launches the event

They choose the category and technique, upload a real reference and set the deadlines. The organizer runs the event but does not compete or judge in it.

  2. The community picks reference and format

Vote, sign up as a participant or apply as a judge — you can change your choice until voting ends. A start needs at least two participants and two independent judges.

  3. You do the work on latex

Write your personal codeword on the latex, shoot photo and process video and submit. The word stays the same for the whole event, but every new round needs new work. The organizer checks authenticity.

  4. Judges score blind

An independent panel sees only anonymous photos and scores technique, pigment evenness and care for the latex: 1–10 per criterion, plus a comment.

  5. The result stays with you

Results, feedback and certificates are saved in your profile. A tie for the final means shared places: 1, 1, 3.

Five formats

One practice.
Different ways
to compete.

Individual scoring, elimination rounds or a shared team result. The format is chosen by vote and never changes mid-event.

All modes
  • Classic

One reference, one round, one piece of work. Your result is the panel’s average total score.

    Mode details
  • Groups

From four participants. Groups of up to four → the best two of each go to the semifinal → the top three reach the final. All three rounds need new work on the shared reference.

    Mode details
  • Battle Royale

From four participants. After each round the better half advances; on a tie at the cut, everyone with the passing score advances. Rounds continue until a final of three or fewer, and every round needs new work.

    Mode details
  • Team vs Team

Two equal teams with locked rosters, one round. The team result is the average score of all members, not the sum. Individual places are counted separately.

    Mode details
  • Battle of Countries

At least two delegations by the countries in profiles. The roster is locked at the start and the result is the average of all delegation members. Artists state their own country: this is a friendly ranking, not an official national selection.

Spectators

Spectators can follow PMU Quest events without competing. If the creator enables the optional audience award for a new event, a separate 72-hour vote opens only after the official judges finalize the results. It never changes sporting places or craft ratings.

Certificates

PMU Quest certificates are community practice awards tied to real completed events, artists or judges. A public proof records a specific result or contribution. It is not a diploma, accreditation, professional licence or medical qualification.

A practice result you can verify.

Reputation through practice

Awards —
for real work.

Certificates are issued after a completed event and tied to a verifiable record: open it with a link and an ID.

The 0–1000 rating is the average of your last 20 completed, scored events. Your profile shows scores by category and the number of events.

My profile and awards
Participant
At least one completed, scored round in a completed event.
First place / Second place / Third place
Your final individual place based on real scores. On a tie, artists share the place.
Semifinalist
A scored piece in the second round of Groups or the pre-final round of Battle Royale; the event must be completed.
Technique precision / Pigment evenness / Careful work
In the final: the average of that criterion at least 9/10 and a total of at least 24/30.
Team victory
A member of the locked team or delegation with the best average. On a tie, the win is shared.
Judge
All assigned works were scored by the judge in a completed event.

Results that are easy to share

Find an event in Arena
How do I share results and keep a summary?

A completed event has a public report of saved rounds, places and scores, with team context and links to existing awards.

  1. Open a completed event in Arena, go to “Results” and open its report.
  2. Find the relevant round: read its saved places and scores with the team context, not as a new overall ranking.
  3. Download CSV or JSON, or choose “Print”. For a PDF, use your browser’s “Save as PDF”.
  4. Follow the existing award links. Compare SHA-256 only as a current-data fingerprint: language and generation time are excluded; record changes can change the hash.

Guests can read the report and its public names. It is not a signed or versioned protocol and offers no appeal, revocation, new award or rating recalculation. SHA-256 is not a digital signature.

Before you submit

Preparation is
part of mastery.

01 / Practice

Your workspace

Latex, needle and pigment. In your submission, list the materials you actually used.

02 / Practice

Deliberate practice

Layout, rhythm, control. Start working once the reference is locked and your round is open.

03 / Practice

Honest photography

Photos without filters and process video. Write your codeword on the latex before shooting; never add a name or contacts.

Frequently asked questions

The essentials in short. If something is still unclear, ask the project assistant on Telegram: it answers from the rules and tells you where to start.

Ask the assistant
Is it really free?

Yes. Taking part, voting, judging and creating competitions are all free. There are no fees, cash prizes or prize pools. Artists prepare their own latex and materials.

Do I need to register?

Browsing needs no sign-in. To take part, vote, judge or create an event, use Telegram, verify your phone number and email, and accept the public profile terms. Email is verified with a code; you do not need a separate password.

Who can create a competition?

Any artist after a confirmed Telegram sign-in. You need a category, a technique, a real uploaded reference and deadlines. The creator runs the event, checks the works and confirms independent judges; they do not compete or judge in their own event.

How do I sign up and submit my work?

Choose an event and sign up before voting ends. When submissions open, write your assigned codeword on the latex, send your own photo and a link to the process video. The word stays for the whole event, but every round needs a new piece of work.

What do judges and other artists see?

Until completion there is no public link between a scored photo and its author. A judge sees only the approved photos of other people in the current round and their own scores — no author account, video, codeword in metadata or internal notes. The codeword on the latex stays in the photo and is not published separately. Artists get their own feedback after completion.

What if there are not enough scores?

The organizer extends the deadlines or cancels the event without a rating or awards: random or average scores are never substituted. A round closes only with a full set of scores from the independent panel.

Does a certificate prove qualification?

No. It confirms specific participation, a result, a skill or a judging contribution in a completed competition. You can verify the record by link and ID. It is not a diploma or a professional or medical qualification.

The next stroke is yours.

Pick an open event or create your own. Taking part, judging and organizing are free.
